Two alpine huts introduce themselves:

1. Bichlalmhütte

The idyllic Bichlalm is located on the south-eastern slopes of the rear Tuxertal. You can reach it in about 45 minutes on foot from Hintertux. For those who want to take it easy in the morning: You can also take the Gletscherbahn to the Sommerbergalm middle station and walk downhill from there.
The “Pleasure Breakfast on the Alm” is served on the Bichlalm every Thursday to Sunday from 8:00 to 11:00 am. You can enjoy the hearty mountain breakfast on the sun terrace. From here you have an unforgettable view of the dreamlike scenery of the Hintertux Glacier.

Hiking tour from the Bichlalm:

From the Bichlalm you take

• the Güterweg No. 17 to the imposing Schleierwasserfall. Already from afar you have a wonderful view of the natural spectacle.
• From the waterfall you can either descend into the valley via the AV-Weg No. 323 … or you can hike on to the Tuxerjoch.

Here you have 3 possibilities:

1. Either it goes uphill and you visit the Frauenwand. From here you have an impressive panoramic view …
2. Or you start the descent to the Sommerbergalm. From the Alm you can take the cable car into the valley …
3. Or you hike from the Sommerbergalm via the impressive waterfall path back to Hintertux.

2. Höllensteinhütte

The Höllensteinhütte offers a culinary experience of a special kind. This is located on a high plateau above the Tuxertal at over 1,700 m above sea level. From Juns or Lanersbach you can reach the charming alpine hut via a forest road. The walk takes about 1 ½ hours. The gifted kitchen team of the Alm spoils you daily from 10:00 to 17:00.

Hiking tour from the Höllensteinhütte:

Easy hike:
From the Höllensteinhütte it goes on

• through the forest to the rustic Grieralm. This is located directly on an idyllic mountain lake, which glitters in the sun from afar. The self-carved eagle chairs on the Grieralm invite you to linger.
• From the Grieralm you can either hike on to the Tulferalm via a rather steep forest path
• or you start the descent and you reach Lanersbach or Juns via a comfortable forest road.

Medium hike:
From the Höllensteinhütte you hike

• on to the Tettensjoch. This tour is particularly impressive due to the beautiful alpine flora and the many alpine rose fields. Once you have reached the Tettensjoch with its pretty summit cross, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view! From here you have 2 possibilities to get back into the valley: Either you take a steep forest and meadow path back into the valley or you go back to the Höllensteinhütte and take the same way you came.
