How to reach our hotel in Hintertux

Regardless of whether you arrive comfortably by car, glide through the Alps by train (ÖBB & Zillertal Railway), or land by plane at Innsbruck Airport, your journey will take you directly to the fairytale mountain idyll of Tux – Hintertux in the Zillertal.
Here are our tips on how to best reach the Gletscher Aktiv Hotel.

How to find us:
- Inntalautobahn (A12) – Zillertal exit
Please note: a toll sticker is required on Austrian motorways! You can get the sticker directly at the border.
Or you can buy it easily and conveniently online from home. Click here for the link:
- Follow the Zillertal main road (B169) to Mayrhofen, drive through the village on the main road and follow the
Tuxer Landesstraße via Finkenberg to Hintertux (from the Zillertal motorway exit to Hintertux: approx. 50 km). - Our Gletscher Aktiv Hotel Kössler in Hintertux – Tux is located directly on the main road on the right-hand side.
- Parking spaces are available free of charge directly in front of the hotel!
- Here’s another tip:
In winter, the road from Mayrhofen to Hintertux is well cleared! Please note, however, that fresh snow are compulsory!
Environmentally friendly arrival
Arrival by train
- Take the express train to Jenbach station in Tyrol
- Change to the Zillertal transport services (Zillertalbahn or bus) to Mayrhofen
- From Mayrhofen, you can take the post bus or a taxi to Hintertux. We would also be happy to pick you up from Mayrhofen station (only possible with advance reservation!).

Arrival by plane
The following airports can be used:
- Innsbruck Airport – 90 km from Hintertux.
- Munich Airport – 230 km from Hintertux.
- Salzburg Airport – approx. 200 km from Hintertux.

You can check into your room from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival.
Check-Out:
Please vacate your room by 10:00 AM.
You can park your car for free directly in front of the hotel.
We also offer underground parking spaces for a fee (€4 per day). Please reserve these at our reception before your arrival!
