Advent Markets in the Zillertal
Advent at the Waldfestplatz in Mayrhofen is an example of the quiet, traditional and contemplative atmosphere that can be found at these markets. There are no shrill decorations or annoying background music; instead, an atmosphere of relaxation and peace is offered, surrounded by quiet melodies and Christmas flair.
In Fügen, the Christmas market offers a cozy atmosphere, enhanced by the historical backdrop of the castle in the town center. Locals in particular meet here to enjoy a cup of mulled wine while listening to Christmas music.
Advent Magic in Tux
Of course, a magical Advent market also awaits you here in Tux:
Lovers and admirers of the Tuxertal come together on the first Sunday in Advent to celebrate the “Tux Advent”. A sea of sparkling lights, lovingly decorated Christmas stands and the smell of Christmas greet the guests and envelop them in a festive atmosphere. This pre-Christmas celebration begins on December 3, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. and takes place on the village square of Tux-Lanersbach.
What awaits you at the Advent market in Tux?
To kick off the Christmas season, the “Tux Advent” offers a warm invitation to get together over hot mulled wine, punch and regional delicacies such as Zillertal Krapfen. At the Advent farmers’ market, farm products and handmade items from Tux – including schnapps, knitted socks and Swiss stone pine products – are tempting as perfect gift ideas. In the Tux town hall, visitors can admire an exhibition on the local chronicle, while the youngest guests can write their letters to Father Christmas.
The program of the Advent market Tux:
After a festive song in the parish church of Tux at 2:30 p.m., the mayor, Simon Grubauer, will officially open the “Tux Advent”, accompanied by music from the Tuxer Bläser. The group “Die Fetzig’n” invites you to linger with Christmas tunes from 4:00 p.m., before Santa Claus and his angels appear on the village square at 5:15 p.m. To round off the day from 6:30 p.m., the Krampusse create an exciting atmosphere with their procession.
